KPI widgets

Key performance indicator (KPI) widgets in the "Profit" tab on the “Profit dashboard” page provide a summary of key performance metrics across four period blocks located at the top of the page. By default, these blocks represent the following periods: “Today”, “Yesterday”, “Current Month”, and “Last Month”, which can be customized according to your preferences.

Tip: To view the date and time of the latest update for widget data, hover over the info icon in a block header.

Using KPI widgets for dynamic filtering

KPI widgets allow dynamic filtering of the product list located in the "Profit" tab based on the period of the selected widget. Clicking a KPI widget applies its corresponding date range to the page settings, filtering the product list accordingly. The currently active widget is always highlighted in blue.

By default, the "Current Month" widget is preselected. However, if a different date range is set via the "Filters” sidebar panel or page settings, the first KPI widget updates accordingly, and its period is automatically applied to the product list. This setting is retained only for the duration of the current page session.

Interacting with widget data

The KPI widgets display your sales data across key metrics located on the left and specific metrics on the right side of the widget.

You can interact with the values shown for the specific metric by clicking them. In particular:

  • Order Items, Units, Promotion: If these metrics show values other than zero, they include links that open the “Orders” page in a new browser tab. This page displays a pre-filtered table showing only the entries contributing to these values. However, the “Promotion” metric will not include a link if the "Profit dashboard” page has the “Transaction view” selected via the "Filters” sidebar panel or page settings.
  • Refunds: If this metric shows a value other than zero, it includes a link that opens the “Transactions” page in a new browser tab. This page displays a pre-filtered table showing only the entries contributing to this value.
  • Margin and ROI: The values for these metrics act as buttons that, when clicked, expand the widget to provide a detailed profit breakdown for the corresponding period.

For a detailed description of each metric provided by the KPI widgets, see Business Analytics | Metrics.

Change widget period

All KPI widgets present data based on the settings defined within the "Filters” sidebar panel or page settings. However, the date range filter is ignored by the widgets. Instead, you can manually customize the widget periods according to your preferences. Any customizations made to the widget periods are automatically saved and remain available to the current user, even after the page is reloaded.

To customize the period displayed by a specific widget, click on the calendar icon at the top right corner of the widget and select a date or a date range using the date range picker or choose one from the list of presets.

Note: Future dates and dates more than two years prior to the activation of Business Analytics are unavailable for selection.

Profit breakdown

To explore the details of the profit breakdown for a specific widget data, click on the expand icon at the bottom of the corresponding widget next to “Profit breakdown”. This action will expand the widget view, displaying comprehensive data on profit breakdown by metrics as described in Business Analytics | Metrics.

Business Analytics Freemium mode

If you have no active Business Analytics subscription, the KPI widgets will be available in Freemium mode, which includes the following limitations:

  • Restricted metrics: The following metrics are not accessible: Units, Promotion, Refunds, Margin, ROI, and Markup. Their values will appear blurred.
  • Unavailable profit breakdown: The expand button opening the “Profit breakdown” is disabled. Hover over the disabled button and click the link provided within the tooltip to set up the Business Analytics subscription.
