Comparison

The "Comparison" tab is an analytics view on the "Dashboard" page of SELLERLOGIC Business Analytics. It enables you to compare business performance between two independently configured date periods — Period A and Period B — side by side. The tab combines KPI widgets, a two-period trend chart, and a "Breakdown" table to give a complete picture of how your performance metrics have changed between any two periods.

The tab can be accessed via the following navigation path:

  • Business Analytics navigation bar > Dashboard > Comparison tab

Note: When Business Analytics is in Freemium mode (no active subscription), all tab functionality remains visible and interactive, but non-freemium metrics are displayed as blurred cards with an upgrade prompt.

1. Page settings and segments

The "Comparison" tab uses the same global filters and segmentation settings as the entire "Dashboard" page. These controls are available in the left sidebar menu and in the toolbar above the tab content. Any selected filters or segmentation options are applied simultaneously to all data displayed on the “Comparison” tab, ensuring that the analysis reflects the same scope and criteria as the rest of the dashboard.

The page settings toolbar above the tab content includes the "Group/Account", "Marketplace", "Search by (SKU, ASIN, Product name)", and "Currency" filters, as well as the "Change view" button. For more information about these shared filters, see Business Analytics | Page settings toolbar. Segments are managed via the sidebar on the left side of the page. For more information, see Business Analytics | Dashboard | Sidebar menu.

1.1 Date periods

The "Date periods" button in the page settings toolbar replaces the global date range picker on this tab. Clicking it opens the "Date periods" drawer, which contains the following areas:

  • Period formats — located in the left column of the drawer. Available formats: "Custom", "Day", "Week", "Month", "Quarter", and "Year".
  • "Period A" and "Period B" sections — located in the right column. Each section contains "From" and "To" date fields and a calendar for selecting the period range.
  • Summary — displays the resolved date range and day count for each period.
  • Action buttons — located at the bottom of the drawer:
    • "Reset" restores the default selection ("Month" format, current month vs. the same month of the previous year);
    • "Apply" applies the selected periods to the tab and closes the drawer. The "Apply" button is inactive until both periods contain a complete date range.

Notes:

  • Period A and Period B are configured independently, and different day counts are allowed for all formats except "Custom". In "Custom" format, Period A and Period B must have the same number of days.
  • Future dates and dates outside the available data range are displayed as inactive and cannot be selected.
  • The period selection applies only to the "Comparison" tab and does not affect the global date range used on other dashboard tabs.

1.2 Period length banner

The period length banner is displayed below the page settings toolbar at all times. It shows the day count of both periods and contains the "Daily averages" / "Raw totals" toggle. The toggle controls how values are displayed across the KPI widgets and the "Breakdown" table:

  • Daily averages: Each value is divided by the number of days in its respective period and displayed with a "/day" suffix (for example, "690.26 EUR/day" or "37/day"). The "Breakdown" column headers also show the day count for each period.
  • Raw totals: The total value of each metric for the full period duration is displayed.

Note: When Period A and Period B have different lengths, the banner advises switching to "Daily averages" for a more accurate comparison. When the periods have the same length, totals are directly comparable in either mode.

2. KPI widgets

The top section of the "Comparison" tab displays 11 KPI widgets in two rows: Revenue, Product sales, Units, Order items, Estimated margin, Estimated margin %, ROI, Markup, Ads (PPC), TACoS, and Conversion rate.

Note: The “Conversion rate” value is available only for dates for which session data is available. If session data is unavailable for the connected Amazon account, "N/A" is displayed instead of a percentage, along with a token connection renewal link. Clicking this link opens the "Amazon seller accounts" page, where you can reconnect or renew the Amazon connection for the affected seller account.

Each widget contains the following elements:

  • Title: The name of the metric.
  • Primary value: The Period A value, displayed in bold.
  • Comparison line: A trend indicator showing the difference between Period A and Period B. For monetary and count metrics, the absolute difference is followed by the percentage change in parentheses (for example, "-2,801.77 EUR (-21.30%)"). For percentage metrics, only the difference in percentage points is displayed (for example, "+0.25%").
  • Period B value: The "Period B" label with the corresponding value, aligned to the right of the widget.

Note: "N/A" is displayed when a metric value cannot be calculated for a period. When the Period B value is 0, and the Period A value is greater than 0, the comparison percentage is shown as "+100.00%".

3. Comparison chart

The comparison chart visualises the selected “Metric” for both periods on a shared timeline. Period A is shown in blue and Period B in green, each with its date range displayed in the legend. Both lines are aligned by position within the period, so the first day of Period A is plotted against the first day of Period B.

The x-axes display Period A dates at the bottom (in blue) and Period B dates at the top (in green). The y-axis shows the unit of the selected metric. Hovering over a data point displays a tooltip with the date, period label, date range, and metric value for both periods.

The chart offers the following controls:

  • "Metric" dropdown — selects the metric displayed in the chart. The dropdown lists the same 39 metrics available in the "Breakdown" table. The default metric is "Revenue".
  • Granularity toggle — switches the time granularity between "Daily", "Weekly", and "Monthly" views, located at the top right of the chart. The selection is reflected in the x-axis labels. "Weekly" displays one data point per week, labelled with the week start date; "Monthly" displays one data point per month.

4. "Breakdown" table

The "Breakdown" table provides a metric-by-metric comparison between Period A and Period B. All rows are displayed on a single page without pagination.

4.1 Table columns

Below is a list of all columns available in the "Breakdown" table:

Header Description Column header filter
Metric The name of the metric Dropdown list

Comparison The difference between the Period A and Period B values, with a "+" or "-" sign. For percentage metrics, the difference is expressed in percentage points
Comparison % The relative change of Period A compared to Period B. "N/A" is displayed for percentage metrics and when both values are 0 Live search with numeric input

4.3 Sorting and filtering

The "Breakdown" table features interactive column headers that support sorting and filtering, allowing you to customise the displayed data to your preferences:

  • Sorting options — the "Period A", "Period B", "Comparison", and "Comparison %" column headers provide ascending and descending sort options. Sorting can be applied to only one column at a time; applying a sort to a different column overrides the previous sort. Rows are sorted by numeric value across all metrics.
  • Filtering options — the "Metric" column header provides a multi-select dropdown to display only selected metrics. The "Comparison %" column header provides a numeric input field to filter by a specific comparison percentage threshold. Multiple column filters can be applied simultaneously.
  • Clear filters icon — located on the left side of the header row. Clicking it resets all active column filters. Applied sorting is preserved.

4.4 Export data

The "Export results" button is positioned at the top right of the table section. It enables you to export the currently displayed table in CSV, XLS, or XLSX format.
