Sales history chart

The “Sales history” chart, located on the "Statistics” tab of the "Profit dashboard” in SELLERLOGIC Business Analytics, visualizes sales data over time and highlights changes in key metrics. The chart reflects the current configuration of settings and filters applied in the control bar at the top of the tab or through the left sidebar.

1. Chart overview

The "Sales history” chart occupies the right section of the "Statistics” tab, with the metrics legend panel on the left.

The chart provides the following axes:

  • X-axis (horizontal): Represents the time period, determined by the date range configured in the control bar at the top of the tab or through the left sidebar. The granularity (individual days, calendar weeks, or calendar months) depends on the active period view: "Day", "Week", or "Month”.
  • Left Y-axis (vertical): Displays monetary values for revenue and expense metrics. The currency label reflects the currency selected in the “Currency” selector.
  • Right Y-axis (vertical): Displays quantity values for the quantity-based metrics (order items, units, cancellations, etc.).

Data update indicator

Hovering over the info icon, located at the top right of the chart, next to the period view tabs, reveals a tooltip showing the date and time of the most recent chart data update.

Chart tooltip

Hovering over the chart triggers a tooltip that displays a detailed breakdown of all visible metrics for that specific time period. The tooltip shows the period date or range, shown as a header, and all enabled metrics with the value corresponding to that date. The period covered by the tooltip varies depending on the active period view: "Day", "Week", or "Month”.

2. Manage chart view

2.1 Period view tabs

Three-period view tabs are located at the top right of the chart, immediately before the info icon. The period view selection is reflected in the X-axis labels and the tooltip date format. Clicking a tab switches the time granularity, enabling a more focused analysis on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis:

  • Day: Each bar/data point represents a single calendar day. Tooltip shows the specific date.
  • Week: Each bar represents a full calendar week. Tooltip shows the week’s date range.
  • Month: Each bar represents a full calendar month. Provides the broadest view. Tooltip shows the month.

2.2 Chart scrollbar

A horizontal scrollbar is displayed below the chart area. It allows you to scale the visible time window within the full date range configured in the control bar at the top of the tab or through the left sidebar.

  • Resizing: Drag the left or right handle of the scrollbar to expand or compress the visible time period.
  • Panning: Drag the scrollbar body left or right to shift the visible window without changing the zoom level.

Note: Adjusting the scrollbar does not change the overall date range defined in the settings — it only controls the zoom level of the chart view.

3. Chart legend

3.1 Legend panel

The legend panel occupies the left section of the "Statistics” tab. It lists all available metrics organized into sections, with their total values for the currently selected date range. The legend always reflects the same data as the chart and tooltip.

The legend is organized into the following sections:

  • Revenue: Section header showing the total revenue value, followed by each revenue sub-metric with their individual values.
  • Expenses & transactions: All cost and fee metrics are displayed below the "Revenue” section without a section header in the legend. Note: The value for the “Ads (PPC)” metric is available only if there is an active Business Analytics subscription and at least one Amazon Ads account is enabled.
  • Estimated margin: Single summary metric.
  • Products: Quantity metrics are shown with their total counts for the period.

For more information about each Business Analytics metric, see Business Analytics | Metrics.

3.2 Visual representation

The "Sales history” chart uses two types of visual elements to represent different metric categories:

  • Stacked bars: Used for all monetary metrics. For each time period, a single composite bar is rendered.
  • Lines: Used for quantity-based products metrics (Revenue, Order items, Units, etc.). Each metric is drawn as a continuous line across the chart, scaled against the right Y-axis (Number).

Each metric is represented by a unique color. The color is displayed as a small colored square or dot next to the metric name in both the legend panel and the chart tooltip.

3.3 Manage metrics visibility

3.3.1 Legend checkboxes

Each metric row in the legend panel includes a checkbox to the left of the colored dot. Checking or unchecking a metric, includes or removes the metric. Unchecked metrics are removed from the chart and are excluded from the "Estimated margin” calculation. The visibility setting is saved per user and is restored when the page is reloaded.

Deselect all / Select all: It is a global checkbox located at the very top of the legend panel, above all metric sections. Clicking it toggles all metrics on or off simultaneously.

Note: Unchecking a metric in the chart legend hides that metric from the chart visualization. However, the corresponding legend entry remains visible and available in the legend, including its value links, unless it is explicitly hidden in the "Manage view” modal.

3.3.2 "Manage view” modal

A more comprehensive visibility control is available via the “Manage view” option in the three-dot menu at the top right of the chart. Clicking it opens the “Manage view” modal, which lists all metrics organized into three sections. You can check or uncheck any metric to include or exclude it from the legend panel. Click ”Reset" to revert all visibility settings to the system defaults with all metrics checked.

4. Export chart data

The three-dot menu at the top right of the chart provides two export options:

  • Export data: Opens the “Export data” dialog, enabling the export of the numerical data behind the current "Sales history” chart view in XLSX or CSV format.
  • Download chart: Opens the “Download chart” dialog, enabling the download of the current "Sales history" chart view in PNG or PDF format.
